A Life That Moved Others
Before there was a legacy, there was a man whose quiet strength, unwavering loyalty, and acts of everyday kindness left a lasting imprint on everyone around him. This is where the story of KB begins.

Remembering Brendon ‘KB’ Warburton
Brendon 'KB' Warburton was more than a colleague; he was a mentor, a friend, and a beacon of strength and generosity. Known for his unwavering support, KB had a unique way of making everyone feel valued. Whether it was offering his morning tea and peanut butter toast or giving away his favorite hat to someone who admired it, his acts of kindness left lasting impressions.
KB served with distinction in Victoria Police's elite Special Operations Group for 18 years. His dedication to his team and his community was evident in every aspect of his life. Even during his battle with Ewing Sarcoma, a rare and aggressive cancer, KB's resilience and selflessness shone through. He chose to endure increased pain by adjusting his medication to remain lucid, ensuring he could spend meaningful time with his loved ones.

The Birth of KB’s Legacy
Inspired by KB's courage and the selfless request from his wife, Kimmie, to donate to cancer research in lieu of flowers, close friend and colleague Kyle Gemmill sought a way to honor KB's memory. This led to the creation of RUN4KB, a monumental challenge where Kyle ran 441 kilometers over seven days, mirroring the seven-month period from KB's diagnosis to his passing.
The success of RUN4KB laid the foundation for KB’s Legacy – One Step at a Time, a charity established in 2024. The organization is dedicated to supporting Ewing Sarcoma cancer research, raising awareness, and continuing the fight against this devastating disease.
